Tahina Has Rasoanantenaina

My name is Tahina, I am 29 years old and I am a tour guide in Madagascar. I was born in Madagascar, was able to go to school and then studied German language and literature.

Every day, I travel to the poorest villages in Madagascar and see children who can neither read nor write. Many are orphaned at an early age or cannot be cared for by their parents and are left to fend for themselves too soon. I don't have children myself, but three children live with me and my husband. They come from particularly poor families and I took them in to give them an education.

In addition, there are two operation days every year in Madagascar, for which I provide water so that dirty river water is not used. My dream is to found my own orphanage with a library. This is to ensure that the children receive an education and have sufficient materials at their disposal.

Maren Henrichmann

My name is Maren Henrichmann, I am 20 years old and study biological sciences at the University of Potsdam.

During the summer holidays of 2023, my parents fulfilled my dream of a round trip to Madagascar. I had been interested in Madagascar's flora and fauna from an early age and was looking forward to finally getting my own impressions of the island.

Once there, I became aware of the omnipresent poverty. Children stand on the side of the road begging, cannot go to school, and are sometimes malnourished. Those who can go to school have hardly any materials. The schools themselves usually have no tables or chairs, let alone a blackboard.

I shared my impressions with my school friends and together we founded a theoretical donation organization as part of a school project. When we were able to implement our theoretical model, we quickly registered donors.

Today, I am a founding member and secretary of the association and am delighted to be able to make a lasting difference to the future of Madagascar's children.

Grit Henrichmann

My name is Grit Henrichmann, I am 48 years old and Maren's mother.

I am very grateful to my daughter for choosing Madagascar as her travel destination. This country, with its unique flora and fauna, is absolutely worth seeing and must be preserved and protected.

Unfortunately, there is more to it than just these beautiful aspects. There are so many areas in Madagascar that need improvement (school education, road networks, medical care, poverty, etc.), which we saw and gained even more insight into thanks to our tour guide Tahina. We find her commitment so fascinating that we can only support her projects.

So, after three weeks in Madagascar, we arrived home and are now in the process of founding an association to support Tahina and her association.

Today, I am the chairwoman of our association, “Friends of Ny Kintana.”

Frank Henrichmann

My name is Frank Henrichmann, I am 56 years old and Maren's father.

Our stay in Madagascar also left a lasting impression on me.
It is a beautiful and fascinating country, but also a very poor one. So we made it our project to support Tahina in her efforts.
And every new activity and every new picture confirms that we are making an important contribution.

Today, I am not only a founding member of “Friends of Ny Kintana,” but also its vice-chairman and treasurer.

Caitlyn Seiffert

My name is Caitlyn Seiffert, I am 22 years old and I study cyber security.
I have been friends with Maren for several years. When she returned from Madagascar in 2023, she told me enthusiastically about her vacation, but also about the difficult living conditions there. When she told me about her idea of starting an association to help the people there, I wanted to support this project as much as possible.

Today, I am a founding member of the association “Friends of Ny Kintana.” I am convinced that with this association, we can help many children and thus make Madagascar a better place to live

Patrick Lengler

My name is Patrick Lengler and I am 50 years old.
I visited Madagascar for the first time in October 2024. I was very fortunate to have Tahina as my tour guide.
She told me about Ny Kintana and we have stayed in touch ever since. We quickly decided to meet again, and so it came to pass that I returned to Madagascar for two weeks in May 2025, where I was able to experience the project firsthand and, to my great delight, visit my sponsored child at home and get to know him personally.

I am very happy to actively support “Friends of Ny Kintana.

Lea Julie Schulz

My name is Lea Julie Schulz, I am 21 years old and, together with Maren and Lilli, I was part of the original founding team of our current organization. What is now a reality began as a theoretical school project during our school days—inspired by Maren's travel experiences in Madagascar. I designed the logo and various posters for our project.

Even in the early stages of our current organization, when it was still a school project, I took part in our school's open house and presented our idea at our own booth.

As a founding member, I am delighted to be actively involved in making a positive difference to the lives of children and families in Madagascar.

Lilli Trabandt

My name is Lilli Trabandt, I am 21 years old and, together with Maren and Lea, I was part of the original founding team of our current organization. The idea originated during our school days as a theoretical construct for a school project—inspired by Maren's stories about Madagascar.

I was enthusiastic about it from the very beginning. When our school project became a real organization, I got involved, for example, on our school's open house day, where I presented our vision at our own booth.

Today, I am a founding member of the association and am delighted to be helping improve the future of many children and families in Madagascar.
