The Library

A child who reads will become an adult who thinks.

Reading and writing are skills that most people learn in their early years at school. This is not the case in Madagascar, as there is neither compulsory schooling nor free education. Many parents cannot afford to send their children to school. The entire family, which has an average of four children, has to work to provide for everyone. Illiteracy is very prevalent in Madagascar, so many public areas have to compensate for this lack of skills. For example, the various bus routes are marked with different colors. This lack of knowledge is due to a lack of materials in schools, which are in short supply. Books, notebooks, and pens must be purchased separately, which many families cannot afford. A public library should enable everyone to have access to a variety of books. This library should have books of all genres and languages. This will enable the children to develop in a variety of ways. The library is closely linked to our orphanage project and will have various locations throughout the country. You can support this project both financially and with donations in kind. For a more in-depth impression of our library project, please visit our picture gallery.

Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to open our first library!
